Our Story
Sabiria is an imaginary place in the Mediterranean Sea, where different people and cultures live peacefully under one sun.
The name is inspired by a mix of languages spoken centuries ago by merchants and explorers in all the ports of the Mediterranean: this language was called Sabir, which means to know, discover, explore. In this ideal land, suspended between history and mythology, diversities do not generate conflicts, but beauty.
With this lost land in mind, Mine Marino, a Turkish designer living in Milan, has decided to transform her family’s four generations' worth of jewelry business. Her great-grandfather started selling carpets and antiques in the early 1900s, traveling around the Mediterranean, searching for precious goods and treasures. His sons followed after him, and the daughters of their sons too.
Now, more than 100 years later, Mine continues her family legacy with Sabiria working with artisan families who have also been passing on their craft for generations. One of the objectives of Sabiria is to keep these jewelry traditions and handmade culture alive, which are threatened by mass production and fast fashion. With a passion for preserving history and beauty, Sabiria offers pieces that tell one story, a story that honors the past while embracing the present. All the handcrafted, heirloom-quality pieces are made with sterling silver plated with 24k gold and adorned with precious gemstones.
Each little treasure found in Sabiria is inspired by centuries of coastal Mediterranean life, including the stories, colors, shapes, and textures found there, as well as the sounds and smells that greet you on your arrival at any port or village.
Sabiria presents a unique collection for women who love to explore new things and step back into the warmth of something familiar.
